South Arts presents an annual fellowship to teacher-student teams of traditional artists in Appalachian counties, the Folk & Traditional Arts Cross-Border Mentor-Apprentice Program. Among the teams who have participated so far are old-time musicians Paul Brown and Trevor McKenzie; ballad singers Sheila Kay Adams and Ian Kirkpatrick; and fiddlers Bobby Taylor and L. Scott Miller.
